"Winter Queen" | Josephine’s Crown Statement Ring | Size 8 Fit
This gorgeous material is called "Josephine's Crown" because it comes from Josephine County in southern Oregon. It is "old stock" collectors' grade material, as Josephine's Crown is no longer being mined today. Josephine's Crown was once found deep under ground near gold and silver mines, and its bold metallic flashes are comprised of pyrite, chalcopyrite, various sulfides, and sometimes trace amounts of gold, platinum, copper, and silver as well. The black and white background mineral is quartz. This rare combination of minerals makes for a beautifully dramatic effect. As Josephine's Crown is no longer being mined today, it will only increase in value and rarity over time, making it a wonderful stone for collector's pieces.
